When she was a teenager she was a badminton player in the national championships, but she ended her career in the sport to become a fashion model. Padukone is of Mangalorean origins and speaks Konkani as her mother tongue. Padukone is a village located situated in Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi in Karnataka State of India is where her ancestry originates. His father, Prakash Padukone, is an old badminton player who is of world-class fame, while her mother is a travel agent.
